Teaneck Pedestrian, 65, On Cellphone Struck Crossing Mid-Block At Night, Police Report
A 65-year-old pedestrian was looking at his cellphone when he was struck by an SUV in Teaneck as he crossed Cedar Lane in the middle of the block at night, authorities said.
The sun had just set when the township victim was struck by a 2019 Ford Eco-Sport outside the CVS near Queen Anne Road shortly after 8 p.m. Tuesday, Deputy Police Chief John A. Faggello said.
He was initially unconscious but breathing when taken to Hackensack University Medical Center, the deputy chief said.

Driver Leaves Scene After Boat Crashes Into Utility Pole In Westchester, Police Say
A dump your boat and run crash closed Saw Mill River Road in Ardsley for several hours.
The crash took place around 7:48 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 7, when a boat being towed by a U-Haul box truck broke loose and smashed into a utility pole, said Ardsley Police Lt. Carl Calabrese.
The driver left the scene, but witnesses were able to tell police that the boat was being towed by the U-Haul truck, Calabrese said.
The driver, or the truck, has not been located, yet, he added.
Saw Mill River Road was closed between Revolutionary Road and Secor Road for several hours while repairs were made.
