New Long Island Restaurant 'Hits Almost All The Elements,' Diner Says
A new Japanese restaurant on Long Island appears to be a hit with diners in the months since opening.
Ikedo Ramen, located in Carle Place at 19 Old Country Road, held its grand opening in late February 2023.
It marked the second Long Island location for the eatery, which touts its authentic Japanese dishes, according to its website.
Donning the menu are several appetizers, each accompanied by a homemade sauce. Among them is the Takoyaki, consisting of fried octopus balls topped with Japanese mayo, aonori, and bonito flakes.

Botanika Cafe, which opened around March 2022 and is located in Ridgefield at 424 Main St., only serves plant-based organic food made with vegan and gluten-free ingredients.
Popular vegan dishes served by the eatery, which serves breakfast and lunch, include buffalo cauliflower wraps, buckwheat pancakes, crepes, Budha bowls, and pesto avocado toast.

D’OH Bagels in Rahway is anything but your average breakfast joint. The mom-and-pop shop opened its doors in the summer of 2017 and makes each item fresh in-store each morning.
The shop’s name, of course, is an homage to the Simpsons as well as a quirky play on words.
“My husband grew up loving 'The Simpsons,' which is partially where the name D'OH! came from,” said Erin Leonard, who runs the shop with her husband, Manny. "But it’s sort of a pun since we make all of our dough in-house, too.”
