A Chicopee man who had more than 100 videos of child porn on his cell phone when police searched it has pleaded guilty this week to exploitation charges, authorities said.
Michael Geoffroy, age 36, admitted on Thursday, Fed. 16, to three counts of sexual exploitation of a child, three counts of distributing child porn, and possessing the offending material, the US Attorney for Massachusetts said. Geoffroy faces potentially decades in prison and a lifetime of monitoring, according to federal sentencing guidelines.

A Russian businessman was convicted this week of an elaborate conspiracy where he and several others hacked into a computer system located in Boston to steal yet-to-released earnings reports from hundreds of companies and used the information to buy stocks, authorities said. Vladislav Klyushin, age 42, of Moscow, was found guilty on Tuesday, Feb. 14, on all charges, including wire fraud and securities fraud, following a 10-day trial in Boston, the US Attorney for Massachusetts said. He faces up to 30 years in federal prison.
