Loaded Gun, High-Capacity Magazine Found On Unlicensed Route 17 Driver, Paramus Police Say
A motorist from North Carolina was found with a loaded firearm and a high-capacity magazine during a routine motor vehicle stop on Route 17 in Paramus this week, police said.
Officer Cesar Hurtado stopped a gray 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe heading north near the Garden State Parkway for a traffic violation around 2:20 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, Paramus Police Chief Robert Guidetti said.
A registration check revealed that the registered owner had a revoked driving privilege, Guidetti said.

Trevor Bady, 21 of Tewksbury, is charged with murder, armed home invasion, unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, use of a firearm while committing a felony, and discharge of a firearm within 500 feet of a building, the Middlesex District Attorney's Office said.

Newark Man Convicted Of Murder After Shooting 31-Year-Old Victim Eight Times: Prosecutors
A 31-year-old Newark man was convicted of first degree murder on Friday, Jan. 26 for a drive-by shooting in 2019, authorities said.
On May 13, 2019, Kenneth Thomas, a 31-year-old Newark resident was gunned down by Ryan Mwangi eight times while sitting in his car, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore Stephens, II said. Thomas was pronounced dead at the scene, Stephens said.
Mwangi fled the scene in a stolen BMW, but was eventually apprehended, Stephens said.
