A Linden man stabbed a woman, set several household items on fire, fired a nail gun at police and more during a SWAT standoff over the weekend, authorities said Tuesday.
John P. Mooney refused to surrender to police responding to his Furber Avenue home around 4:30 p.m. Sunday, where they found a woman with minor stab wounds, acting Union County Prosecutor Lyndsay V. Ruotolo said.

Perth Amboy Man, 36, Fatally Shot In Elizabeth
The fatal shooting of a 36-year-old early Monday in Elizabeth is under investigation, authorities said.
The victim has been identified as Zakee Cooper, 36, of Perth Amboy, acting Union County Prosecutor Lyndsay V. Ruotolo said.
At about 2 a.m. on Monday, Elizabeth police responded to the 1000 block of North Broad Street.
Officers found Cooper, who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds, police said. He was subsequently pronounced dead.

$10K Reward Offered In Fatal Elizabeth Barbershop Shooting
A reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for information leading to arrest and indictment of an Elizabeth shooting that left one person dead, authorities said.
Tyshun Kearney, 30, a city resident, was shot outside of a barbershop at the corner of Jackson Avenue and Bond Street just before 7 p.m. Wednesday, the Union County Prosecutor's Office said.
Kearney was taken with multiple gunshot wounds to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, authorities said.
