Arsonists Break Into Jersey Shore Home, Start Living Room Fire: Prosecutor
A pair of men from Ocean County have been charged with setting a home on fire in Little Egg Harbor, authorities said.
Thomas Lester, 20, of Tuckerton, and Ethan Salter, 19, of Little Egg Harbor Township, broke into a National Union Boulevard home on Jan. 8 around 2:15 p.m., then started a fire in the living room, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said on Friday, March 8.

Pedestrian Struck, Killed On Jersey Shore: Police
An 86-year-old man was struck and killed by a pickup in Harvey Cedars on Long Beach Island, authorities said.
Ralph Alston, of Little Egg Harbor, was hit while crossing Long Beach Boulevard near the intersection of 80th Street at about 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1, according to Harvey Cedars Police Chief Robert Burnaford.
Alston was airlifted to AtantiCare Regional Medical Center, where he died of his injuries, Burnaford said.
Bladimir Montalvo Hernandez, 34, of Tuckerton, who was driving the Ford F150 pickup, had not been charged, He was not injured, the chief said.

A high-ranking employee at a Pennsylvania furniture business is accused of embezzling more than $1 million from the company, authorities say.
Linda Mansi, 53, of Tuckerton, New Jersey, is charged with multiple felonies from Arnold Office Furniture and Sunline Supply in Bridgeport, said Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele's Office in a release Friday, July 28.

A 53-year-old man from Ocean County has pleaded guilty to aggravated assault and stalking, authorities said.
Donald Rutter, of Tuckerton, admitted to the crimes on Monday, June 13, according to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer.

Three former employees of a veterans organization have been indicted for stealing about $30,000 in extra pay, authorities said.
Jesse Violante, 34, of Tuckerton; Mary Anne Dileo, 67, of Manahawkin; and Gary Mclain, 34, of Little Egg Harbor, were indicted Thursday by an Ocean County grand jury of theft by unlawful taking, the county prosecutor said.
All three defendants formerly worked for Vetwork, a LaceyTownship-based nonprofit that provides resources and assistance to veterans in Ocean County.

A 33-year-old pedestrian was struck and killed by a driver who ran a red light Monday morning in Atlantic County, authorities said.
Michael Doyle, 31, of Tuckerton, was heading east on BlackHorse Pike when he ran the light at English Creek Avenue and struck Anthony Swezeny, of Egg Harbor Township, local police said.
Swezeny was trying to cross the Black Horse Pike from the south to north side when he was hit by Doyle in a 2003 Honda CRV, police said. Doyle then struck a 2021 Chevy van, authorities said.
