The Freightliner driver killed in last week’s crash on Route 287 was a PA firefighter remembered for his kind heart and willingness to help others.
Edward A. Facer, 48, was driving a Freightliner tractor southbound when it ran off the right side of the highway, through the guardrail, and down an embankment near milepost 22.5 in Bedminster around 5:10 a.m. on Friday, August 25, NJSP Det. Jeffrey Lebron told Daily Voice.
Facer, of Port Matilda, PA, was killed in the crash.

Electrical work was still underway the morning after a man crashed a dump truck into a telephone pole with a transformer, leading to his arrest, power outages, and dangling live wires, officials say.
Wilfredo Chun, of Everett, was arrested after crashing a dump truck in Chelsea on Tuesday, June 13, affecting electrical systems and causing road closures through the following morning, according to Captain David Betz at the Chelsea Police Department.
The crash and dangling live wires closed Everett Avenue, Third Street, and the Beacon Street off-ramp to vehicles and pedestrians.

A driver sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries after losing control of his truck and crashing into a liquor store in Wrentham this week, authorities said.
Police and fire responded to Wampum Corner Wine & Liquors, located at 660 South Street, around 10:10 p.m. on Wednesday, March 22, according to Wrentham Police on Facebook.
