PA State Trooper Bryan Gray Dies, 36: 'Leader With Calm, Level-Headed Approach'
Bryan Gray, a Pennsylvania State Police trooper, husband, and father, died on Thursday, Jan. 18, according to his obituary. He was 36.
A Philadelphia native, Gray most recently lived in Morrisville with his wife and daughter, loved ones wrote. He was a state trooper of five years, serving at the Troop K barracks in Philadelphia, a family member wrote on GoFundMe.

Tolland County resident James Bobbitt, age 91, of Mansfield Center, was driving east on Route 6 in the Town of Windham in Windham County as Thurl Hiltz, age 89 was driving in the opposite direction with Carlene Drysdale, age 90, of Livermore Falls, Maine in the front seat of his Chevrolet Impala shortly before 12:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 22.

16-Year-Old Killed After Crashing Pickup Into Tree, CT State Police Say
A Connecticut teenager is dead after driving his 2004 Ford F250 Super Duty pickup off the roadway and hitting a tree.
Middlesex County resident Connor Young, age 16, of East Haddam, was killed around 7:50 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 3, on Mott Road, said the Connecticut State Police.
Young was headed west near the East Haddam Turnpike when for an unknown reason the pickup veered left crossing the eastbound travel lane, state police said.
The truck then left the road and struck a tree located along the left side of the roadway. The pickup ended up in the road, facing south.

Multiple Fires At Area Apartment Complex Intentionally Set, State Police Say
State police say several fires at an area apartment complex that left 26 people displaced were intentionally set.
The two main fires at the Dutchess County facility began around 10:13 p.m., Sunday, April 18, at the Village at Merritt Park apartment in the Village of Fishkill, said Trooper AJ Hicks.
An investigation on Monday, April 19, by the state police and Dutchess County found that seven rear back porches, which had paper products being stored for recycling, were set on fire at the 200 Building, 400 Building, and 800 Building, Hicks said.

NY State Police Donate Over 1,300 Toys To Area Children For Christmas
New York State Police in Troop K, with the help of local businesses and the United States Marine Corps, has amassed 1,329 toys for donation to the Dutchess County Toys for Tots chapter.
Between Wednesday, Nov. 25 and Friday, Dec. 18, members of the community dropped off new, unwrapped toys at Troop K headquarters in Salt Point for donation. Then, area members of the Marine Corps picked up the donated presents for distribution to children in the area.
All 18 police stations in Westchester, Putnam, Dutchess and Columbia counties participated in the Toys for Tots program.

Four residents of the Hudson Valley and two from Fairfield County were among 68 people charged during a four-day New York State Police detail that focused on the illegal distribution of controlled substances at the Disc Jam Music Festival in Stephentown, New York, east of Albany.

State Police Seek Person Of Interest, 27, In Fire Set At Parents' Home
State Police are asking the public for help in locating a man wanted in connection with a fire at his parent's home.
The fire broke out around 2:37 a.m. Monday at 242 West Road, in Marlborough, said state police detectives with Troop K.
Following an investigation, detectives said they are looking for the homeowner's son, Reid Keener, 27, in connection with the blaze.

State Police Troop Covering Westchester Names New Commander
Capt. Richard Mazzone, a veteran law enforcement official, has earned the rank of Major with the New York State Police, making him the 35th Troop Commander of Troop K, which includes parts of Westchester, Putnam, Dutchess and Columbia counties.
Mazzone’s career began in 1995 as an officer with the Town of Saugerties Police Department, before he transferred to the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office and Ulster Police Department. In May of 1998, Mazzone became a New York State Police trooper, initially assigned to Troop F, which includes Greene, Orange, Rockland, Sullivan and Ulster counties.
