All Lanes Of Route 17 Closed By Overturned Construction Equipment In East Rutherford
Traffic was halted along Route 17 Tuesday morning, Oct. 29 due to debris that fell off a tractor trailer in East Rutherford. As of 10 a.m., all southbound lanes, south of East Union Avenue, were closed. Traffic cameras show cars backed up in the southbound lanes and what appeared to be overturned construction equipment. Firefighters doused an early morning tractor-trailer blaze that jammed early rush-hour traffic on Route 95. Flames spread across the highway after the fire broke out on the highway's southbound side near mile marker 117 in Ridgefield around 5 a.m., responders said.The rig, toting plastic corrugated tubing, was fully involved when firefighters arrived.
