'Land Of The Free': Montgomery County Restaurants Defy New COVID Restrictions
Restaurants, gyms and movie theaters in Pennsylvania were ordered shut until Jan. 4 as part of a tighter set of restrictions set forth by Gov. Tom Wolf. But several Montgomery County businesses already hit hard by the pandemic insist on staying open. The West Main Diner in Lansdale said in a Dec. 11 Facebook announcement that it will continue to stay open for dine in, carry-out and curbside service while complying by CDC guidelines. “West Main Diner is proud to have been a mainstay in the Lansdale community for the last 15 years,” the post said. “The staff at West Main Diner wil…

The new measures will be enforced beginning 12:01 a.m. on Dec. 12, and will be in place until Jan. 4, Gov. Tom Wolf and other state officials said. Ten-thousand new cases have been reported each day in Pennsylvania for the last eight days, and a record-high of 3,124 deaths reported Wednesday. Desperate Gov. Wolf Pleads With Residents As COVID Cases Soar, Hospitals Reach Capacity
Pennsylvania's healthcare system has been feeling the effect of the COVID-19 surge for weeks. Officials implemented new mitigation efforts on Nov. 23, desperate to stop the spread. But somehow, things got worse -- and the healthcare system is becoming increasingly overwhelmed. Gov. Tom Wolf warned during Monday's COVID-19 briefing that if action isn't taken now, anyone who needs healthcare treatment -- for COVID-19 or otherwise -- will be impacted. "Crowded conditions and dwindling resources are a reality in hospitals all across the Commonwealth, Wolf said. "And so are staffing …

All Eyes On Philly: More Than 100K Mail-In Ballots Left To Be Counted
Philadelphia officials were expected to give an update on the more than 100,000 mail-in ballots still being counted in the city Thursday morning. More than half of the mail-in ballots had been counted as of around 6 a.m., reports say -- and they were heavily in favor of Joe Biden, CBS reports. If the ballots come out in Biden's favor, that would put in ahead of U.S. President Donald Trump and gain him Pennsylvania's 20 electoral votes. People rallied across Philadelphia making pushing to have every vote counted. Gov. Tom Wolf acknowledged the process is slower than usual -- but that mean…

Pennsylvania was among six states that had yet to be called including Alaska, Arizona, Georgia, North Carolina and Nevada. Expect more fireworks as Trump's personal lawyer, former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, has joined the election fray. Giuliani tweeted: "En route to Philadelphia with legal team. Massive cheating. @realDonaldTrump up by 550,000 with 75% counted. Will not let Ph…

As the world waited for an outcome in the U.S. presidential election. Pennsylvania joined two other states in counting final votes critical for victory. With 20 electoral votes, Pennsylvania -- along with Wisconsin and Michigan -- now hold the key to winning the White House. While Trump is leading by nearly 700,000 votes in the Keystone State, there are approximately 1.4 million outstanding absentee votes, The Times reports. If the former vice president carries the remaining …

Pennsylvania Election Officials Expect Major Delays In Counting All Presidential Votes
Many election observers say Pennsylvania may be the key state in determining who is America's next president. And officials in at least six counties in the Keystone State said they don't plan on counting mail-in ballots until after Election Day. “The outcome of Tuesday’s election could well depend on Pennsylvania,” Secretary of the Commonwealth Kathy Boockvar said, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer. “It is vitally important that the more than 3 million ballots cast by mail here be counted as soon as possible.
