Man Threatens Officer With Assault Rifle on Long Island, Police Say A Long Island man is accused of threatening to harm a police officer with an assault rifle, authorities said. A Nassau County Police sergeant phoned Donald Schreiner, aged 34, of Oceanside, at 8:35 p.m. on Thursday, March 30 to follow up on a complaint Schreiner had submitted, according to police. Over the phone, Schreiner allegedly threatened to harm the officer with an assault rifle he owned. Trio Charged After Officers Find Handgun In Vehicle In Bethpage, Police Say Three men are facing weapons charges after police reported they were found in possession of a handgun on Long Island. The incident happened in Bethpage at about 9:10 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 19, the Nassau County Police Department reported.  Officers were conducting an investigation in the parking lot of 432 North Wantagh Ave. and saw three men inside a parked 2010 Ford Focus, NCPD said. Nassau County Police responded to a radio assignment of a fight in the vicinity of 155 Franklin Ave. on Saturday, March 7 at 4:50 p.m. in Hempstead.
