A 42-year-old man who sped away from police officers who found him slumped over his steering wheel on the NJ Turnpike in Union County was arrested as his Central Jersey home, authorities said.
Mike Otto, 42, of Carteret, was charged with eluding, resisting arrest, obstruction, tampering with evidence, possession of CDS, possession of drug paraphernalia, and criminally under the influence, New Jersey State Police said in a release.

Police: Newark Man Used U-Haul Truck To Steal ATM From Hair Braiding Salon
A man used a U-Haul truck to steal an ATM machine from a Newark hair braiding salon, authorities said.
Laquan J. Wright, 28, a city resident, broke into the 16th Avenue salon overnight last week and removed the machine, Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose said.
Police were called to the scene at 6:50 a.m., last Saturday, on reports that the ATM machine was missing from Deedee African Hair Braiding salon, police said.

Sixth Person Arrested For Savage Beating, Shooting Of Rival In Long-Standing Feud
An 18-year-old man is the sixth person to be arrested for an August shooting and beating that police believe arose from a long-standing feud.
On Tuesday, Sept. 29, Vernon Police arrested Trenton Merrill, 18, 157 Union St., Vernon, on the charges of attempted murder, operating a drug factory, and several other felonies, police said. Merrill is the suspected shooter, police said. He’s being held on a $1.6 million bond.

A Long Island man has been arrested for leaving the scene of a crash that seriously injured a pedestrian last month.
Daniel Gianotti, 22, of Elmont, was arrested on Tuesday, March 10, for the crash that occurred on Sat., Feb. 22, in Elmont, said the Nassau County Police.

Two people have been arrested in connection with a hit-and-run in June 2019 that left a Bridgeport firefighter seriously injured.
Adrian Cauthen, 33, and Frances Marino, 33, both of Bridgeport, were arrested Thursday, Jan. 23, were charged in connection with hitting the off-duty fireman who was crossing Stratford Avenue when he was hit and left in the roadway, said Bridgeport Police Capt. Kevin Gilleran.
