A person was shot at a Harrisburg area Dollar Tree on Tuesday night, say police. Swatara Township police were called to a reported shooting at the store located at 3243 Paxton Street at around 8:19 p.m. The victim was transported to a local hospital by a civilian. An initial investigation found that the shooting followed a verbal altercation between a store employee and the victim. All parties involved in this shooting have been identified and interviewed. A Pennsylvania man who shot his wife and then turned the gun on himself in front of the couple's infant daughter apparently had a long history of domestic violence, a news report says. Elizabeth Wise of Swatara earlier this year reported being punched in the ribs and abdomen earlier this year by her husband, Brian Womelsdorf, but wanted to make the relationship work, PennLive reports. New details have come out about Friday's murder-suicide in Dauphin County, say Swatara Township police. The police arrived in 600 block of Mohn Street at 12:08 a.m., less than 10 minutes after receiving a call about a domestic disturbance in the area. Officers forced their way into the home when no one answered the door but they could "hear a baby crying." Harrisburg Woman Charged With Strangulation After Assaulting Woman In Cumberland County
A woman has been charged for strangling another woman during a fight on Monday, according to police in Upper Allen Township. Pamela Baumgartner, 29 of Harrisburg, assaulted a woman--strangling her-- and destroying property in the first block of Andes Drive around 5 p.m. Baumgartner fled the scene on foot but police issued a warrant for her arrest, and with the assistance of the Swatara Township Police she was apprehended. A 57-year-old man was charged with attempted homicide after stabbing the passenger of his vehicle with a knife Thursday in what Swatara Township police are calling a domestic incident.
