A New York State Police K9 deserves some extra treats after reportedly helping troopers uncover nearly a dozen guns and drugs during a traffic stop in the region.
In Sullivan County, a State Police trooper stopped Tyquan Robinson, age 32, of New York City, at around 8 p.m. Thursday, July 20, as he drove on Route 17 in the Town of Rockland.
According to State Police, Robinson initially lied about his name and age.

Man Accused Of Helping His Wife Die By Suicide In Sullivan County
A man from the area has been arrested and charged with manslaughter for allegedly helping his wife commit suicide.
Sullivan County resident Kenneth Alger III, age 38, of Liberty, was arrested in March after his wife's body was found in a cemetery in Liberty.
Alger was indicted by a grand jury for manslaughter that alleged around Tuesday, Feb. 28, he intentionally "caused and aided Amanda Alger, age 31, his wife, to commit suicide," the indictment said.

Area Man Arrested Twice In Three Days For Mulitple Thefts, Police Say
A man from the region has been arrested twice in three days for allegedly stealing credit and debit cards out of vehicles and using them at area businesses.
Sullivan County resident William T. Staesser, age 28, of Woodbourne, was arrested for the first time on Sunday, Jan. 30, and again on Wednesday, Feb. 2, by the Monticello Police.

Man Who Shot At Troopers In Area Charged With Attempted Murder, Police Say
A Hudson Valley man who fired at New York State troopers during a domestic dispute and was in return shot by troopers has been charged with the attempted murder of a police officer.
Orange County resident Patrick Hermanowski, age 39, of Westbrookville, was charged on Tuesday, Sept. 14, and remanded to the Sullivan County Jail, said Trooper Steven Nevel.
According to Nevel, the incident took place around 2:50 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 12, when troopers and the Deerpark Police responded to a 911 call in Westbrookville.

One Of Two Men Shot After Forcing Way Into Area Home, Beat Residents, Police Say
One of two men was shot after the duo allegedly forced their way into a home to confront the resident about a previous altercation.
Andre Fogo, age 32, and Rachain Wilson, age 28, both from the village of Monticello, were arrested on Friday, April 2, after New York State Police responded to a report of a shooting in Monticello, said Trooper Steven Nevel.
When troopers arrived on the scene they found that the victim, later identified as Wilson, had been driven to Garnet Health Medical Center in Catskill, for treatment of the gunshot wound, Nevel said.

Trio Nabbed With Guns, Weapons After Traffic Stop In Area, State Police Say
A traffic stop led to a host of drug charges for three people in the Hudson Valley, police said.
New York State Police troopers from Middletown on patrol on Route 17 in Bloomingburg stopped a 2010 Dodge Avenger when the driver committed a vehicle and traffic law violation.
During the subsequent stop, troopers said that the driver, Krystal Myers, of Watkins Glen, passengers Joseph Hunsinger, of Watkins Glen, and Antonio Lopez, of the Bronx, gave them a reason to further search them and the vehicle.
