Covid-19: College-Town Businesses More Likely To Stay Closed
College town businesses that closed due to COVID-19 conditions are 24 percent more likely to stay permanently closed once the virus is gone compared to communities without institutions of higher education, according to a recent Yelp analysis.

FAIRFIELD, Conn. — Robert L. Seirup Sr. and Joan (Hedin) Seirup of Fairfield, who were married for 67 years, passed away within weeks of each other.
Robert L. Seirup Sr., a beloved local teacher and coach, died Dec. 8. His beloved wife, Joan Seirup, died Dec. 31.
Joan, who was raised in Bridgeport by Harry and Katharine Hedin, graduated from Bassick High School in 1945 and from the Scudder Business School.
