Six Westchester Residents Charged With DWI In Weekend Stops
With local and state police agencies cracking down on drunk, drugged and distracted driving, several local residents were among nearly two dozen in the area who found themselves on the wrong side of the law over the weekend. Local residents charged were: Westchester County On July 28, State Police from Cortlandt arrested Segundo Otavalo Figueroa, age 24, of Ossining, for DWI. 71 Tickets Issued In New Westchester Police Traffic Enforcement Detail
New York State Police troopers teamed up with officers from the Yonkers Police Department over the weekend to conduct special enforcement details on area parkways and a major roadway. The law enforcement agencies conducted traffic enforcement details on Central Park Avenue, Sprain Brook Parkway and Cross County Parkway on Saturday “in an effort to combat speeding, aggressive or reckless driving and to enhance the quality of life for residents and other motorists." 54 Ticketed In Targeted Distracted Driving Detail In Westchester
Dozens of motorists were busted by New York State Police troopers on Tuesday during a special distracted driving enforcement operation on the Sprain Brook Parkway in Westchester County. State and local law enforcement agencies have been running enforcement details for months, including several for distracted drivers on major county roadways. On Tuesday, troopers dished out a total of 54 tickets during the targeted enforcement period. Taconic Parkway Lanes Closures Scheduled
Motorists planning on traveling on the Taconic State Parkway on Saturday, Feb. 3 may see delays as crews complete roadwork in Mount Pleasant. The New York State Department of Transportation issued an alert cautioning that the southbound lanes of the Taconic State Parkway will be closed between Route 117 and the Sprain Brook Parkway in Mount Pleasant for several hours while crews perform maintenance.
