South Carolina Man Guilty Of Killing Central Jersey Speedway Worker During Robbery: Prosecutor
A South Carolina man was found guilty of fatally shooting a Speedway Gas Station employee during an armed robbery in Edison, authorities said.
Marcus A. Wright, 27, was convicted on Tuesday, Sept. 12 by a jury of the murder of John Bertram, according to Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone.
The murder occurred on Dec. 20, 2018.
Bertram was shot to death while working as an employee of the Speedway Gas Station on Amboy Avenue, in Edison.
On Jan. 3, 2019, Wright was located in Beaufort, South Carolina and placed under arrest.

Police in the Hudson Valley are seeking the public's help in identifying a man who allegedly robbed a gas station at knifepoint.
The incident took place in Ulster County around 1:50 a.m., Monday, March 27 at the Speedway Gas Station located at 416 Route 28 in the town of Ulster.
An investigation revealed that a white male suspect possibly in his 50s to 60s, 5-foot-7, wearing a black jacket, grey hooded sweatshirt, dark clothing, and black face mask entered the store, selected merchandise, and proceeded to the checkout counter, said Ulster Police Chief Kyle Beradi.

A Hudson Valley man was captured hiding in a shed after allegedly robbing an area gas station.
Daniel Davis, age 39, of Mount Vernon, was arrested on Sunday, March 6, after allegedly robbing the Speedway Gas Station in the village of Mamaroneck.
The incident took place around 4:30 a.m. when officers responded to the gas station located at 731 Mamaroneck Ave., for a hold-up alarm, said Lt. Mark Gatta, of the Mamaroneck Police.

Police have arrested a man in connection with a string of Long Island business burglaries.
Anthony Livieri, 49, of Brooklyn, was arrested on Wednesday, Dec. 23, for an alleged burglary that took place around 5:11 a.m., at a grocery store in Woodmere, Nassau County said.
According to detectives, an off-duty Nassau County officer was driving home from work when he observed a burglary in progress at S & S Woodmere Inc., located at 1064 Broadway.

Suspect Nabbed In Long Island Gas Station Robbery
A man wanted in connection with an armed gas station robbery was nabbed at an area hotel.
The robbery took place around 7:25 p.m., Sunday, May 10, in Nassau County at the Speedway Gas Station located at 60 Jericho Turnpike, in Jericho.
