Special Needs Students Enjoy Special Tour Of Norwalk Fire Department
The High Road School of Norwalk teamed up with the Norwalk Fire Department to arrange student tours of firefighting and specialized equipment last month, with different grade levels attending each day. Students toured the Norwalk firehouse at 121 Connecticut Ave., spent time with firefighters and learned about the day-to-day operations of the department. Oakland Family Has Been Living In Hotel Since September
A newly-single mom, her five children and her two parents have been living in a hotel since September, when their Oakland house went into foreclosure. Nicole Becker explained that after separating from her husband in May, the family was forced to move into a hotel where they are limited to two beds and a mini fridge. Becker says she has no help from her husband, now living out-of-state, and is barely getting by.
