Photos: Two Hospitalized After Crash Between Drunk SUV Driver, Truck On Long Island, Police Say
An allegedly intoxicated driver with a previous DWI sent himself and another driver to the hospital after being involved in a rollover crash on Long Island, police said.
Officers from the Southampton Police Department were called to Country Road 51 at approximately 10:40 a.m. on Friday, May 29.
Officers found the two vehicles involved in the crash, an SUV and International Heavy Truck, with the SUV on its roof.
The investigation found that the driver of the SUV, Mastic resident Gregory Lee, 56, struck the heavy truck being driven by Kasey Fitzgibbon, 27, on the roadway.

LI Mother Surrenders After Shooting Of 3-Year-Old's Father Leads To Amber Alert
A Long Island mother who allegedly shot the father of her child and then went on the run, prompting an AMBER Alert, has turned herself in to police.
According to the Southampton Police Department, Patchita Tennant, 42, of Riverhead, surrendered at the police department earlier Friday, Sept. 6, said Southampton Police Lt. Susan Ralph.
Her 3-year-old daughter was found safe earlier in the day following an AMBER Alert being issued after her father was allegedly shot by Tennant, police said.

Shark Sighted In Shallows Waters In Hamptons
There's been a brand-new shark sighting on Long Island, and this one is a bit unusual.
The shark was sighted in shallow waters in the Hamptons, prompting a response by police.
The shark, of an unknown species, was 10 to 12 feet in length, said Christopher Isola, the Village of Quogue's Chief of Police. It was spotted in Quogue just after 9 a.m. Saturday, July 20 near Penniman Creek, which feeds Shinnecock Bay and Quogue Canal, Isola said. (See image above.)
