23-Year-Old Killed In Route 1 Crash
A 23-year-old driver was killed in a crash on Route 1 in South Brunswick overnight, police said. It happened just before 12:55 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 24, on the southbound side of the highway near New Road, local police said. A 2012 Honda Accord struck a utility pole, killing the South Brunswick driver, authorities said. Anyone with information is urged to call Officer Bryan Sites at (732) 329-4648.

Route 1 has reopened in South Brunswick after a fatal accident, police said. A 58-year-old woman was killed in the 6 p.m. crash on Monday, Nov. 20, local police said. Police On Lookout For Suspects In South Brunswick
South Brunswick police asked the public's help in identifying suspicious activity in town. Police are looking for two individuals who were observed looking into the rear of homes on Elenor Drive at around 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 1, they said. The description of one of the individuals is a black male, wearing a brown jacket and a hat - brown with some red in it. Anyone with information call South Brunswick Police at (732) 329-4646.

Haledon Shooting: Central Jersey Man, 27, Wounded Over Weekend
A 27-year-old Middlesex County man was shot in Haledon over the weekend, authorities confirmed. Dump Truck Flips, Central Jersey Road Closed: Police
South Brunswick police advised motorists to avoid New Road near Route 1 for two hours after a dump truck overturned. At 6:45 a.m., Monday, Oct. 23, police responded to the single-vehicle crash on New Road near Woodlot Park. The dump truck landed on its side and had taken down a number of utility wires. There are no injuries in the crash, police said. New Road had reopened by 9:45 a.m. between Route 1 and Wheeler Road. South Brunswick Police Traffic Safety Bureau is investigating the crash.

NJ Car Fire Linked To Killing Of Philadelphia Police Officer
A car fire on a New Jersey roadway has been linked to the shooting of two Philadelphia police officers that left one dead on Thursday evening, Oct. 12, authorities said. Police in South Brunswick said only that the vehicle fire extinguished on Route 32 around 1 a.m. Friday, Oct. 13, was connected to the shooting. A cemetery worker who fell into a grave was rescued in Central Jersey, authorities said. At 12:55 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 10, South Brunswick Police received a report of a man falling into a grave at the Holy Cross Cemetery, 840 Route 535. South Brunswick EMS, Monmouth Junction Fire Department, and Monroe Fire Department responded. The emergency agencies found a 47-year-old male down approximately 6 feet in an open grave site. A three-alarm fire heavily damaged an entire apartment building in Central Jersey early Friday, Sept. 15, authorities said. The fire displaced 15 residents who are staying elsewhere, South Brunswick police said. The fire was reported shortly after midnight at the Royal Oaks Apartment Complex off Route 1 in South Brunswick, police said. More than a dozen fire departments battled the blaze.
