Orange County resident Jack Braun of Slate Hill, a hamlet of Wawayanda, died in Sullivan County around 1:30 a.m., Sunday, Sept. 22, on Route 17 West in Mamakating in a single-vehicle crash.
According to his obituary, Braun, a student at Minisink Valley High School, was born an ‘old soul' and was passionate about history, film, and music.

ID Released For Man, 72, Killed In Fiery I-84 Crash
State Police have released the identification of an area man who died following a fiery crash on I-84.
The crash took place around 3:03 p.m., Wednesday, June 24 in Orange County in the town of Montgomery near exit 28, said Trooper Stephen Nevel.
According to Nevel, an investigation revealed that a 2020 Mack truck, driven by Orange County resident David Harp, age 72 of Slate Hill, experienced a tire blowout causing the vehicle to exit the roadway on the right shoulder.

In a dramatic movie-style series of raids, a total of 29 people were arrested Tuesday during a drug enforcement action dubbed "Operation Bread, White and Blues."
