Shoppers flocked to the Westfield Garden State Plaza this Black Friday, making it the mall's most successful event since 2018, mall officials said.
The center opened its doors at 7 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 29, but eager crowds had already formed long lines outside popular stores like UGG, Sephora, Lululemon, Aritzia, and Macy’s, according to Wesley Rebisz, senior general manager of Westfield Garden State Plaza.
Extended hours, from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., gave shoppers more time to score deals, with the mall remaining packed well past 9 p.m.

Sephora Smugglers Nabbed After 6 Long Island Burglaries: Police
A trio of men involved in a string of burglaries targeting Long Island makeup stores have been caught, police announced.
The suspected thieves were caught on Friday, Dec. 15 in Oceanside, according to Nassau County Police.
At approximately 3:30 p.m. that day, the three men — Rickardo Wallace, age 22 of Queens, Devon Findlay, age 30 of Brooklyn, and Shakair Moncrieffe, age 25, also a Brooklyn resident — were seen entering the Sephora located at 3715 Long Beach Road with backpacks.

CT Man Sentenced For Role In Northeast Grab-Go Theft Scheme
A Connecticut man has been sentenced to 15 months in prison for participating in an extensive commercial larceny spree.
Andres Barclett, aka "Coolie", age 27, of Hartford, was sentenced on Wednesday, Dec. 1, followed by two years of supervised release, said Leonard C Boyle, Acting US Attorney for the District of Connecticut.
This case stems from “Operation American Steal,” a long-term multi-agency investigation into numerous “grab and go” thefts from various retail fashion stores in Connecticut and nearby states," said Boyle.
