Man Critically Injured After Car Crashes Into Truck On Long Island Expressway
A man was seriously injured when a car crashed into a truck overnight on the Long Island Expressway, according to authorities.
It happened around 1:35 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 28 in Dix Hills.
Koray Kurulgan, age 30, was operating a 2005 MINI Cooper eastbound on the expressway, near Exit 52, when the vehicle crashed into the back of a tractor-trailer that was parked on the right shoulder, Suffolk County Police said.
Kurulgan, of Staten Island, was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip in critical condition, police said.

An investigation is underway after a missing woman was found dead in a Long Island home, authorities announced.
Frania Espinal, age 22, of Dix Hills, was reported missing on Monday, April 12.
Following an investigation by Suffolk County PD Homicide Squad and Second Squad detectives, Espinal was found dead inside a home in Bay Shore, on Heckscher Avenue, at about 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 14, according to police.

A mother who went missing along with her 2-year-old son has been found.
The two were last seen on Long Island at their Suffolk County residence, in Greenlawn, located on Shady Lane, on Sunday, March 14 at approximately 3 p.m.
On Wednesday night, March 17, police announced they were located, unharmed.

A man was seriously injured in a crash that led to the closure of a stretch of the Long Island Expressway overnight.
The crash happened on Thursday, Aug. 27 at about 3:15 a.m. on the westbound side near Exit 48 in Melville.
Alex Sahastume-Rivera, 22, of Jackson Heights, Queens, was driving a 2020 Jeep Wrangler westbound on the Long Island Expressway near exit 48 when the vehicle left the roadway and overturned at approximately 3:15 a.m.
