2 Killed, 4 Injured In Head-On Central Jersey Crash
Two people were killed and four others injured in a head-on crash in Central Jersey, authorities said. A Nissan was driving on Bordentown Avenue when it crossed over a double yellow line and collided head-on with a box truck at Waterworks Road in Sayreville around 4:10 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31, according to Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone. 24-Year-Old Passenger Killed In Car That Rolled Onto Parked Vehicles On Route 35 In Sayreville
Authorities have identified the 24-year-old man killed in a single-car crash over the weekend on Route 35 in Sayreville. Zion Jackson, of Keansburg, was a passenger in the vehicle that crashed near Fred’s Bait and Tackle Shop around 5 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone said. A 2009 Acura TL was heading south on Route 35 when it veered off the roadway striking a safety bollard for a fire hydrant and then rolled over onto the two parked vehicles, the prosecutor said. Passenger Killed In Route 35 Crash
Authorities are investigating a fatal weekend crash in Sayreville. ALSO SEE: Police ID passenger killed in crash. The crash occurred at about 5 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 28, on Route 35 southbound near Fred's Bait & Tackle. A rear-seat passenger of the vehicle was killed on impact, according to the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office. An earlier statement from the prosecutor's office incorrectly said the driver was killed. The driver and another passenger were hospitalized and were being treated for serious injuries. Traffic was detoured down Route 9 south, Sayreville police said.

Dad Struck, Killed Along Garden State Parkway 'Had A Heart To Help Those He Could'
The community is rallying to support the family of a 55-year-old man who was struck and killed after his car broke down along the Garden State Parkway. Robert Piel Sr. of Bayonne "had a heart to help those he could," according to a GoFundMe set up to pay funeral costs. Piel was standing in the left lane of the parkway after his Ford stopped in the center lane on Oct. 14 in Sayreville, according to New Jersey State Police. Motorist, 55, Struck, Killed After Car Breaks Down On Garden State Parkway
A 55-year-old man from Bayonne was struck and killed after he got out of his car which had broken down along the Garden State Parkway in Middlesex County, authorities said. Robert Piel was standing in the left lane of the parkway after his Ford stopped in the center lane around 7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 14 at mile marker 123.2 in Sayreville, New Jersey State Police Detective Jeffrey Lebron said. A serious crash closed Route 9 in Sayreville, authorities said. The crash occurred southbound at about 6 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 21 near Bordentown Avenue (Route 615), according to the New Jersey Department of Transporation. NJ Swimmer Drowned In PA Park After Saving 8-Year-Old Cousin: Coroner
A New Jersey man was found dead in a Pennsylvania lake after disappearing while swimming on Sunday, Aug. 6, officials told Daily Voice. Elisam Santana, 19, of Sayreville was swimming at Beltzville State Park in an unauthorized area of the lake, said Carbon County Coroner Gerald D. Jones Jr. Santana, the coroner said, had saved his 8-year-old cousin from drowning when he went under the water and never came back up. At Santana's autopsy on Tuesday, Aug. 8, his death was ruled an accidental drowning, Jones said.
