Suitland Man's Mysterious Death Solved After Surveillance Reveals Deadly U-Turn
A 22-year-old Maryland man whose death initially left investigators searching for answers was deliberately run down by a driver who made a U-turn and accelerated toward him before chasing him behind a building, prosecutors say. Jacari Amon Phauls has been sentenced to 40 years in prison, with all but 20 years suspended, after pleading guilty to second-degree murder in the September 2025 death of Saunders Alton Mitchell IV in Suitland, according to the Prince George's County State's Attorney's Office.
