Tolls Increase On These 4 Bridges Between NJ, PA For First Time Since 2011
Tolls are going up on four Delaware River Port Authority bridges between New Jersey and Pennsylvania on Sunday, Sept. 1 for the first time since 2011.
The increase on the Ben Franklin, Betsy Ross, Commodore Barry, and Walt Whitman bridges went into effect at midnight.
For passenger vehicles, motorcycles, and small trucks, tolls increased from $5 to $6. For recreational vehicles and mobile homes, tolls go up from $.7.50 to $9 per axle. For buses, the increase goes from $3.75 to $4.50.

Don't Be Alarmed: Blank Ammunition To Be Used During Drills At School In Rye
A police department in Westchester is planning on conducting live tactical drills involving the use of blank ammunition at a high school over several days, which may result in the sound of gunshots coming from the building.
The drills, which will be conducted by the City of Rye Police Department, will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 8, Wednesday, Aug. 9, and Thursday, Aug. 10 at the Rye High School/Middle School building at 3 Parsons St., the department announced.
The drills will all be held between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on all three days.

Two Percent Budget Increase, 18 Employee Layoffs Proposed For Westport
The Westport School District may be increasing its budget and cutting jobs if the superintendent’s proposed spending plan is approved.
Westport Schools Superintendent Colleen Palmer has proposed a $119,283,880 budget for 2019-20, which represents an increase of 2.68 percent ($3,110,080) from the current budget. The proposal would potentially see as many as 18 jobs in the district eliminated to cut costs.
