A woman was hospitalized after being impaled on a fence post in Garfield, authorities said. It was just after midnight on the 4th of July when police responded to the medical call on Grace Avenue off Herman Street near eastbound Route 46, Capt. Mario Pozo said. They found the 30-year-old victim, who the captain said had "fallen on a small fence post that was on the ground outside the residence." "The post went into her thigh," he said. Responders feared the worst for an occupant of an SUV that struck a townhouse Saturday morning in Lodi. The man went into cardiac arrest after the Honda Sante Fe crashed on Harrison Avenue, just off eastbound Route 46 near the Garfield border, shortly after 10:30 a.m. July 8. The driver of a van that crashed on a Route 46 overpass on Wednesday was taken to the hospital in police custody, authorities said. Frankie Harrison, 63, was charged with DWI and careless driving after the 11:45 a.m. June 7 rollover on the westbound highway near the exit ramp for southbound Route 17, Hasbrouck Heights Police Lt. Six people were displaced by a fire that ripped through a home on Main Street in Hackettstown. On Monday, Jan. 23, at 2:22 p.m., Hackettstown police, firefighters and the Rescue Squad responded to 300 Main Street, which is a residential over commercial wood framed building, in reference to a structure fire.
