A 36-year-old woman was airlifted to a trauma center after she was seriously hurt in a motorcycle crash in Connecticut, authorities said.
The woman, from Warwick, Rhode Island, was riding a Harley-Davidson on Route 44 in Pomfret, near the intersection of Allen Road, when her motorcycle crashed with a Honda CR-V just after 5 p.m. Monday, July 21, according to Connecticut State Police.
Emergency crews first transported her to Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam, but she was later airlifted to UMass Memorial Medical Center for trauma care, police said.

Authorities have identified the pedestrian killed while walking along Route 44 this weekend as 68-year-old Leo Blain of Putnam, Connecticut.
Blain was struck by a Ford Fusion around 6 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 23, according to Connecticut State Police. Paramedics transported him to Day Kimball Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

A 22-year-old from the region was arrested for reckless driving and other charges in connection to a fatal crash that killed a 58-year-old man.
The crash took place in Litchfield County on Monday, Dec. 20, 2021, on Route 44, in the town of North Canaan.
According to Connecticut State Police, a Volkswagen Jetta, operated by Essex County resident Carl Blair, age 58, of Danvers, Massachusetts, was traveling on Route 44, when his vehicle was hit by a Fed-Ex Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, driven by Hampden County resident Jarad Seery, age 22, of Holyoke, Massachusetts.

A massive blaze broke out at a historic building in Connecticut which was once a hotel, displacing residents and injuring at least three firefighters.
The three-alarm fire started in in Litchfield County, in the Town of New Hartford, around 2:30 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 10, on the third floor and the roof of the building at 4 Bridge St., Jon Barbagallo, public information officer for Norfolk said.

Two men were killed and another seriously injured after a head-on crash late Friday afternoon in central Connecticut, state police said on Saturday morning.Devin Gilbert, 24, of Barkhamsted and Keith Gillespie, 61, of Avon were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which occurred around 4 p.m. on Route 44 in Barkhamsted, according to police.
