A busy roadway in Westchester will be temporarily closed as contractors install a “rumble strip.” The Irvington Police Department announced that from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday, Oct. 25, only local traffic will be permitted on East Sunnyside Lane in Irvington to permit the Highway Department to install a centerline rumble strip along the narrow roadway. A busy Orange County roadway will be closed for more than a week as crews perform construction activities in the area. The New York State Department of Transportation announced that beginning at 6 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 20, Route 208 will be closed between Clove Road and JMD Drive in Blooming Grove. The closure is expected to last until 7 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 29. There will be overnight ramp closures on I-684 and I-84 in Putnam County for several days, beginning this week. New Road Resurfacing Alert Issued For Rockland
Motorists should expect delays as contracting crews get set to begin another road resurfacing project. The Rockland County Highway Department issued an alert on Tuesday advising that beginning at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 16, roadwork will be performed along South Airmont Road from Route 59 to Campbell Avenue in Airmont. During the scope of the project, weather permitting, motorists have been advised to seek alternate routes when possible as lane closures and delays are expected. Two Seriously Injured In Five-Vehicle I-95 Crash
Connecticut State Troopers are saying it is a miracle no one was killed when a tractor-trailer slammed into the rear of a Toyota on I-95, causing a chain reaction crash with three other tractor-trailers. The crash occurred around 12:20 a.m. Tuesday near exit 43 in West Haven, when the last tractor-trailer did not slow down in time for construction, slamming into the small car, said state police.
