Long Island Man Charged For Hitting Person With Car, Police Say
A Long Island man has been arrested for allegedly hitting another man with his car following a disturbance at a housing complex.
Brandon Smith, age 38, of Center Moriches, was arrested on Tuesday, June 28, for the incident which took place around 7:20 p.m., on Wednesday, June 22 in Riverhead.
According to the Riverhead Police, the department received a 911 call regarding a disturbance at 821 East Main St. apartment complex.

Three Busted During Underage Alcohol Sting Operation On Long Island, Police Say
Three people have been charged with selling alcohol to minors during an investigation into stores on Long Island.
The sting effort, conducted by Riverhead Police and the Riverhead Community Awareness Program took place on Thursday, June 16, in an effort to reduce the sale of alcohol to underage children, the police department said.

Long Island Armed Robber Demands Victim's Scooter, Cash, Police Say
Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred on Long Island.
The victim, age 32, told police he was walking in Riverhead near West Main Street and Griffing Avenue at around 8 p.m. Thursday, April 28, when a man pulled him into an alley and tried taking his electric scooter, Riverhead Police said.
When the victim told the suspect that the scooter didn’t work, the suspect pulled a silver-colored handgun and demanded everything in the victim’s pocket, police said.
The victim gave him $400 cash and a debit card before running from the alley toward Grangebel Park, police said.

Man Nabbed For Two Robberies, Violating Stay-Away Order In Riverhead, Police Say
A Long Island man was arrested for allegedly violating a protective stay-away order, in addition to two robbery crimes.
Stanley Battle, age 37, undomiciled, was arrested in Suffolk County by the Riverhead Police after they responded to a 911 call for help in Peconic Crossing.
Battle fled the area before police arrived. Riverhead town police began an investigation, and around 8:20 a.m. spotted him on foot in the area of Grangebel Park, police said.
