Family Plans Lawsuit After NJ Transit Train Operator Killed By Fallen Tree In Mansfield Twp.
The family of the New Jersey Transit train operator killed by a fallen tree is planning to sue several organizations for negligence, an attorney said. Jessica Haley of Levittown, Pennsylvania, was identified as the person who died in the crash, according to a news release from the Anapol Weiss law firm on Thursday, Oct. 15. A New Jersey boy was killed when a tree fell on him in a backyard, authorities said. Lucas Schwartz, 12, was identified as the victim of the Eldridge Avenue incident in Lawrence Township on a GoFundMe page. Police said he'd been playing with a friend in the backyard of a home when gusty winds blew the tree over, and it fell onto him around 12:09 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 14. A train operator was killed and multiple others hurt after a tree fell on an NJ Transit train Monday morning, Oct. 14 in Burlington County. The incident happened around 6 a.m. on the River LINE train, which had been heading north from Trenton when it struck a tree south of the Roebling Station in Mansfield Township, an NJ Transit spokesperson said. Five people were injured when a New Jersey Transit light rail train crashed into a truck in Burlington Township, officials said. Authorities ID Man Killed By Train In Trenton
Officials have identified the man who was struck and killed by a train in Trenton over the weekend. Tyrie D Lee, 41, of Trenton, was struck by a River Line light rail train at the South Broad Street crossing at 2:52 p.m. Saturday, NJT spokesman Everett Merrill said. The train had left the Waterfront Entertainment Center in Camden at 1:44 p.m. None of the 30 passengers nor the operator were injured.
