If anything good came from last week's Nor'easter, it was the quick-thinking and handy work of the Ridgewood High School hockey team. Senior athlete Joe Rahaim capitalized on the storm to help his coach, Anthony Katchen, whose 1-year-old baby Austin is battling an aggressive form of cancer. Rahaim -- who owns an odd jobs business -- rallied his teammates and a few of his employees to help shovel snow for 31 area residents. Tree Falls On Ridgewood Students' Cars
RIDGEWOOD, N.J. -- Several Ridgewood High School students heading home at the end of their school day Friday found their cars damaged by a fallen tree. Storm Knocks Ridgewood Church Tree Across Road
RIDGEWOOD, N.J. -- Friday morning's squalls toppled a large tree on the property of a Ridgewood church. The St. Elizabeth's Church tree fell across Fairmount Road, blocking traffic and downing utility lines, knocking out power to customers in the immediate area.
