Remains Of Missing PA Cabbie Found, Passenger Held Responsible For His Death: Police
Police believe they have cracked the mysterious case of a missing Pennsylvania taxi driver, as his remains were found this week.
Darlyn De La Rosa-Abreu disappeared on Aug. 8 2021, just after picking up a passenger, Johnny Palaguachi, in his 2015 Toyota Corolla, Reading Police Chief Richard Tornielli said.
Human remains found near Old Church Road in North Heidelberg Township on May 20 were confirmed to be those of De La Rosa-Abreu, Tornielli said.

A 52-year-old gunman wanted on attempted murder charges in a Reading, Pennsylvania shooting was captured by members of the US Marshals Service in upstate New York, authorities said.
Onephree, also known as Arthur Blackwell, was arrested in Buffalo, NY on Thursday, April 7, Reading Police Chief Richard Tornielli said.
He had been wanted since a shooting on Thursday, March 10 in the 1000 block of North 5th Street, the chief said.

Fingerprint Helps ID Man Accused Of Raping Teen Girl Walking To School In Reading
A fingerprint was key in identifying and arresting a man who is now charged with the rape of a teenage girl at knifepoint in Reading, authorities said.
The 14-year-old girl told police that she was walking to school on the 1200 block of Hill Road when she was abducted, taken to another location, and sexually assaulted twice, around 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 16, Reading Police Chief Richard Tornielli said.
Thanks in part to a fingerprint, police identified the suspect as 38-year-old Sean Samuels, of Auburn, the chief said. DNA evidence is still pending.

Philly Man Charged In Deadly Shooting Of Two Teens In Reading
A Philadelphia man has been charged in the shooting deaths of two teenagers in Reading, authorities said.
Nyjee Jefferson, 26, is accused of fatally shooting two male victims in the 200 block of West Greenwich Street around 7:10 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 20, Reading police chief Richard Tornielli said.
The victims have been identified as José Ventura-Jiménez, 18, and a 17-year-old boy, whose name was not being released due to his age, police said.
Jefferson was arrested Sunday in Philadelphia on an unrelated parole violation warrant, according to police.
