Firefighter Injured In Rutgers Barn Blaze
A firefighter was injured battling a fire in a storage barn at Rutgers University in North Brunswick, authorities said. The fire broke out at about 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 11 at the Horticultural Farm property at Rutgers Gardens, according to a university spokeswoman. The building was unoccupied at the time, she said. The fire was contained to the barn with assistance from local fire departments. One firefighter received treatment at a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, the spokeswoman said. Rutgers Gardens spans 180 acres off of Route 1. The farm conducts research …

A new facility near the Atlantic City International Airport focusing on aerospace innovation will be the first of its kind in New Jersey, officials said. The $18.5 million Aerospace Innovation Center (AIC) will be built in the National Aerospace Research & Technology Park (NARTP) in Egg Harbor Township, Gov. Beloved Sparta High School graduate and Johns Hopkins research technologist Erin Julia Beebe died unexpectedly on Monday, April 4. She was 26. Erin attended Reverend George A. A total of 31 of the Hudson Valley's best and brightest high school seniors were among 300 chosen to compete with some of the nation’s top students in the Regeneron Science Talent Search competition. The 300 scholars were chosen out of 1,760 applications that were received from 611 high schools across 49 states.
