Oakdale Man Forged Doctor Notes To Avoid Commute To Manhattan, Police Say
A Long Island man is accused of forging numerous doctor notes in order to dodge his work commute to Manhattan.
Alan Anderson, age 55, of Oakdale, was arrested on suspicion of falsifying business records and related charges by Suffolk County Police on Thursday, Aug. 29.
Investigators said Anderson, an employee at the New York City Administration for Children’s Services (ACS), submitted 12 fraudulent doctor notes to his employer between February and May 2024.

Covid-19: Congressman Sean Patrick Maloney Tests Positive
Congressman Sean Patrick Maloney announced he's infected with the COVID-19 virus.
The 55-year-old Democrat said he tested positive on Tuesday, Jan. 11, and is experiencing minor symptoms.
Maloney represents New York's 18th congressional district, which includes Newburgh, Beacon, and Poughkeepsie, Putnam County, as well as parts of Northern Westchester.
"While I am experiencing minor cold-like symptoms, I’m grateful to be fully vaccinated and boosted, which is protecting me from more severe illness," Maloney said in a statement.

COVID Flight: New Jersey, New York Lead US In Out-Of-State Moves, CT Close Behind, Survey Says
New Jersey and New York are leading the nation in the percentage of household relocations to other states, driven by the “new normal” of the coronavirus pandemic, a recent survey shows.
A whopping 69% of all New Jersey residents who moved from March 1 to Aug. 19 relocated out of state, UniGroup reports. That’s just about 7 of every 10.
New York is close behind at 67%, with Connecticut fourth at 64%.
Residents from New Jersey and New York mostly moved to suburbs and smaller towns in Florida, Texas and other Sunbelt states between March and July, Bloomberg reported.
