Man Punches Victim In Face, Then Fights, Injures Officers At Long Island Gym, Cops Say
A man was charged with assault after allegedly punching another man in the face at a Long Island gym and then fighting with, and injuring, police officers attempting to arrest him.
The incident took place in New Hyde Park around 3:50 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 2 at the LA Fitness located on Marcus Avenue.
According to Nassau County Police detectives, officers responded to the gym for a report of a man bleeding.

Hurricane Henri: State Of Emergency Declared For 24 NY Counties
A State of Emergency has been declared for 24 counties in New York State as Hurricane Henri threatens to make landfall on Long Island Sunday morning, Aug. 22.
The storm, which is expected to be near hurricane strength when it makes landfall, is forecast to affect coastal areas with dangerous storm surge, as well as heavy rainfall, dangerous surf conditions, and widespread power outages.

Former NY State Supreme Court Justice, Longtime Area Resident Ralph Beisner, Dies
Former Dutchess County Supreme Court Justice, lawyer and pastor Ralph Beisner died at 78 on Monday, Dec. 14.
“Ralph Beisner dedicated his life to his family and his community, and Dutchess County joins his loved ones in mourning his passing and celebrating his legacy of strong faith and devoted service," said Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro of Beisner's passing.
