Police Investigating Threat Made Against Hamden Elementary School
Police in Connecticut are investigating after an elementary school received a swatting threat, which forced administrators to cancel a promotion ceremony. Authorities at Bear Path Elementary School in Hamden said they received the threat around 9:30 a.m. on Friday, June 13. Administrators were forced to evacuate the school. Students were taken to a separate location so they wouldn't be forced to stand in the heat. The school was also forced to cancel the sixth-grade promotion ceremony scheduled for Friday. Virtual Promotions: 24 Passaic Police Officers, Firefighters Sworn To New Posts Via Zoom
It wasn't the NFL draft, although it looked somewhat like it when two dozen promoted Passaic police officers and firefighters were sworn in to their new positions Monday via Zoom. Mayor Hector Carlos Lora presided over the unprecedented virtual ceremony, during which 19 police officers and five firefighters were officially promoted amid the coronavirus pandemic.
