23-Year-Old Suspect Quickly Caught After Beacon Purse Snatching Incident Beacon Police quickly arrested a 23-year-old local man after he snatched a woman's purse, according to the Beacon Police Department. Bobby Jones III, of Beacon, was arrested around 10 p.m. Sunday after police responded to Liberty Street for a purse snatching incident, said Det. Sgt. Jason Johnson. Once on scene, the victim was able to describe the male suspect and responding officers located a Jones who matched the description a short time later.  A show-up was conducted and the victim positively identified Jones, Johnson said. Charged were: Mamuka Simonishvilli, 52, of Bedford Street, Stamford, operating under the influence and possession of marijuana. Orange County Man Nabbed With Gun, Pot A 21-year-old City of Newburgh man was busted for possession of a handgun and marijuana during a stop by Orange County Sheriff's deputies. Tyshe M. Williams Jr., was stopped shortly after noon on Sunday, on Liberty Street for various traffic violations, said Capt. Paul Arteta. Williams, who was unlicensed, had 94 bags of marijuana tucked inside his jacket and a loaded Ruger handgun in the vehicle, Arteta said. He was charged with felony criminal possession of a weapon and possession of marijuana and is being held at the Orange County Jail on $25,000 cash bail or $50,000 bond.

Joshua Gill, 29, was charged Saturday with disorderly conduct and possession of marijuana after troopers were called to the resort for a disorderly man, said Trooper Steven Nevel. While interviewing casino security, troopers determined that Gill was engaging in tumultuous and threatening behavior, and was taken into custody, Nevel said. Officers found the 25-year-old victim down on the platform, "bleeding from a puncture wound to her back," around 1:30 a.m. Thursday, the authority's Joseph Pentangelo said. She was taken to University Hospital. Meanwhile, police recovered the knife used and arrested 38-year-old William F. Harden of Brooklyn.
