23-Year-Old Suspect Quickly Caught After Beacon Purse Snatching Incident
Beacon Police quickly arrested a 23-year-old local man after he snatched a woman's purse, according to the Beacon Police Department. Bobby Jones III, of Beacon, was arrested around 10 p.m. Sunday after police responded to Liberty Street for a purse snatching incident, said Det. Sgt. Jason Johnson. Once on scene, the victim was able to describe the male suspect and responding officers located a Jones who matched the description a short time later. Greenwich Man Nabbed In Jail For Stealing Wallet Two Years Ago
A Greenwich man was nabbed by Greenwich Police at the Westchester County Jail on an outstanding warrant for ripping off a wallet out of a car. Cesar Salazar-Duque, 30, was picked up at the Westchester County Jail, where he was being held on another charge, on a warrant for stealing a wallet in 2016 and using the credit cards inside, said Greenwich Police. Two Face Charges After Stops At Stamford Sobriety Checkpoint
Two local men are facing charges after police conducted a sobriety checkpoint in Stamford late Friday night into early Saturday morning.The checkpoint was at 626 Glenbrook Road and began around 11:30 p.m. and lasted more than an hour. Charged were: Mamuka Simonishvilli, 52, of Bedford Street, Stamford, operating under the influence and possession of marijuana. William Potolicchio, 64, of Hubbard Avenue, Stamford, operating under the influence and possession of marijuana. The detail was made possible through a grant from the Connecticut Department of Transportation.

Wyckoff PD: Stoned Driver Bolts Across Rt 208, Found In Girlfriend's Trunk
A stoned driver stopped for driving erratically suddenly dashed across both lanes of Route 208 and was later picked up by his girlfriend, said Wyckoff police who found him hiding in her trunk. Officer Michael Flim stopped a black Trailblazer with New York license plates on the southbound side of the highway after the driver “appeared to have difficulty keeping the vehicle within its lane of travel,” Lt. Orange County Man Nabbed With Gun, Pot
A 21-year-old City of Newburgh man was busted for possession of a handgun and marijuana during a stop by Orange County Sheriff's deputies. Tyshe M. Williams Jr., was stopped shortly after noon on Sunday, on Liberty Street for various traffic violations, said Capt. Paul Arteta. Williams, who was unlicensed, had 94 bags of marijuana tucked inside his jacket and a loaded Ruger handgun in the vehicle, Arteta said. He was charged with felony criminal possession of a weapon and possession of marijuana and is being held at the Orange County Jail on $25,000 cash bail or $50,000 bond.

A 28-year-old Westchester man is awaiting arraignment after he was found with a loaded handgun and a large amount of cash following a report of a domestic assault in Rockland County.Just after 4 a.m. Sunday, April 1, Ramapo Police officers responded to a report of the alleged assault in the Village of Airmont. A Spring Valley was busted with more than 300 Endocet pills stuffed in blue gloves during a traffic stop on Route 59, according to a Spring Valley Police. Jefferson Denizard was arrested being stopped around 1:12 a.m. Wednesday for driving with a suspended license when the officer smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle, said Officer Matthew Galli. Police: Middletown Man Engages In Threatening Behavior At Resorts World
A Middletown man was arrested by state police after threatening people while at the Resorts World Casino in the Town of Thompson. Joshua Gill, 29, was charged Saturday with disorderly conduct and possession of marijuana after troopers were called to the resort for a disorderly man, said Trooper Steven Nevel. While interviewing casino security, troopers determined that Gill was engaging in tumultuous and threatening behavior, and was taken into custody, Nevel said. Gill was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Thompson Court on March 22.

A Newburgh man was busted with two illegal handguns during a traffic stop by Orange County Sheriff's deputies. Tyrek Jones, 24, was arrested on Thursday following the stop on Benkard Avenue in Newburg, said Orange County Sheriff's Capt. Paul Arteta. While speaking with Jones, deputies noticed the smell of marijuana inside the vehicle. Jones admitted to having smoked in the vehicle recently. Port Authority PD Nabs Man Charged With Stabbing Woman On PATH Platform
Port Authority police arrested a man who they said was seen on video stabbing a woman on a platform at Newark's Penn Station. Officers found the 25-year-old victim down on the platform, "bleeding from a puncture wound to her back," around 1:30 a.m. Thursday, the authority's Joseph Pentangelo said. She was taken to University Hospital. Meanwhile, police recovered the knife used and arrested 38-year-old William F. Harden of Brooklyn. They charged him with aggravated assault, weapons count and possession of marijuana for a joint they said was found in his pocket, Pentangelo said.
