Child Escapes Massive Poolesville House Fire Uninjured, Home Destroyed: Officials A 12-year-old child is safe after a fire engulfed a Poolesville house while they were home alone, authorities say. The fire allegedly started in the kitchen of the residence at 16205 Edwards Ferry Road in the early afternoon of Wednesday, July 27, according to Montgomery County Fire and Rescue. The bulk of the fire has since been extinguished, officials said, but the home was reportedly declared a total loss. The 12-year-old was able to escape the home uninjured. No other injuries were reported in the fire.
