On Thursday, Oct. 26, 70-year-old Kevin Barnett was arraigned on charges including torturing the dog, a mixed breed named Jessica, according to the Nassau County District Attorney. Barnett brought Jessica to the West Hempstead Animal Hospital on Saturday, July 1 asking for the dog to be cremated. Long Island Man Nabbed For Supermarket Burglary, Police Say A Long Island man has been arrested for an alleged burglary of a supermarket. Christopher Stringer, age 20, of Point Lookout, was arrested on Tuesday, Dec. 28, shortly after the burglary, said the Nassau County Police. According to detectives, an officer while on patrol heard a ringing alarm.
