'Adventurous Spirit': Pilot Killed In NY Plane Crash Remembered For 'Palpable Zest For Life'
Natalie Gillis saw much of the world in her 34 years, most of it from the air.
The pilot from Toronto, Canada died Monday morning, June 17, when her twin engine Piper plane crashed just moments after taking off from Albany International Airport.
Gillis, the aircraft’s sole occupant, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Colonie Police. The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the NTSB.

Paul Auster, who won numerous literary awards and published "The New York Trilogy" died on Tuesday, April 30, at the age of 77, his literary representatives announced.
Born in Newark, Auster was raised in South Orange before graduating from Columbia High School in Maplewood. He initially garnered attention after publishing his memoir "The Invention of Solitude," which discussed his father's death.

West Milford Dad, Hackensack Carpenter Dale Corcoran Dies, Community Rallies For Beloved Son
The community is rallying for the son of area carpenter Dale Corcoran, who died Aug. 7. He was 33 years old.
More than $6,700 had been raised as of Monday on a GoFundMe for Corcoran's son, Antonio.
Corcoran, of West Milford, was a carpenter for Union Local 253 in Hackensack, and inherited his love of carpentry from his father, his obituary says.
"He loved woodworking, and could be found in the garage on many late nights, creating bird houses and clocks, household projects and furniture," the obit reads. "It was his passion."

The community is rallying for the son of Washington mom Erin Van Note, who died on Oct. 11 in Pennsylvania (scroll down to donate).
Born in Livingston, Erin graduated from Warren hills High School in 2006, her obituary says.
"Erin was a talented artist who enjoyed drawing, singing, music, and poetry and being with her family," her obituary says.

A retired priest who served as a pastor and college faculty member on Long Island and was a prolific sculptor has died.
The Rev. Harold Erwin Buckley died Saturday, May 11. He was 94.
Buckley was born in Brooklyn on March 31, 1925, to a mother, Elizabeth, and a father, Jeremiah, both immigrants from County Kerry, Ireland. He was the middle child in a family of five, his sister Elizabeth and brothers Jeremiah, Eugene, and Robert.
