Barstool Sports CEO Dave Portnoy has had some tense moments when giving a "One Bite Pizza Review," but he faced what could have been one of his toughest reviews ever during a recent stop in the region. That's because he wasn't reviewing a restaurant or pizzeria. He was critiquing the pie from a family grieving the loss of a loved one to fulfill a Rensselaer County man's wish. Derek Murphy, of Troy, died in May at 23 years old after a lifelong battle with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. The degenerative disorder slowly strips away the sufferer's strength and bodily contro…

Best Breakfast Pizza On Long Island Found At This Setauket Restaurant, Foodies Say
Move over breakfast burritos, the rise of breakfast pizzas is upon us. Picture this: an everything-bagel crust topped with crispy bacon, crumbly sausage, scrambled egg, and melted cheddar, mozzarella, or pepper jack cheese. Throw in some green peppers and mushrooms for good measure and what’s not to love? While decidedly not as compact or travel-friendly as its burrito brethren, breakfast pies are a perfectly acceptable way to break one’s fast – just ask members of the “pizza” subreddit: “Love me some breakfast pizza. Some hash browns on it are a game changer!” one user wrote. …

Portnoy Gifts Fan Buffalo Chicken Slice During Review Of Jersey Shore Pizzeria
Buffalo chicken pizza isn't Dave Portnoy's taste. And neither is a floppy crust. The Barstool CEO, continuing his "One Bite" review stint along the Jersey Shore stopped by Salerno's in Hazlet. The Bethany Road pizzeria threw in a free slice of buffalo chicken, but Portnoy made it abundantly clear, it's not his thing. So much so that he gave it to a nearby fan. Portnoy ultimately gave the pizza 7.3, deducting points for a floppy crust, but the fan reviewed his free slice of buffalo chicken: 8.3.
