Target To Close Stores In 4 States, Including NY, Citing Theft, Organized Retail Crime
Citing incidents involving violence and theft, Target announced it is closing nine stores in four states, including one in New York.
The New York store is in Manhattan, at 517 E 117th St.
Three other stores are in California, in the San Francisco/Oakland market, and three in Oregon, in Portland.
The other two stores are in Seattle, Washington.

An angered driver who stopped after being cut off by an elderly motorist in Oakland turned out to be a fugitive wanted in Pennsylvania, authorities said.
Sgt. Ryan O’Keefe was on Ramapo Valley Road when he saw a 2016 Kia cut off a 2007 Chevrolet Monte Carlo around 11:50 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12.
As O'Keefe pulled the female motorist over, he noticed the driver of the Monte Carlo, which had struck a curb, stop just up the road, Capt. Timothy Keenan said.
That driver, Tyris Scott, 20, of Newark didn't have a driver's license on him, the captain said.

Demarest Man, 63, Charged With Stalking Oakland Woman, 30
A 63-year-old Demarest man was arrested for stalking an Oakland woman, authorities said.
Kerry Fouch was taken into custody after the 30-year-olf victim told Officer Jacob Martin reported being followed, Lt. Christian Eldridge said.
Her stalker "would appear at numerous places that she would frequent in and out of Oakland," the lieutenant said.
Fouch, formerly of Closter, has a history of minor arrests for offenses including theft, receiving stolen property and drug possession, records show,
Oakland police charged Fouch with stalking and then released him pending a hearing, he said.
Oakland Driver Charged With Assault By Auto In DWI Crash That Injured Passenger
An Oakland driver was drunk when he crashed his car into a utility pole, sending his female passenger to the hospital, authorities said.
Tyler Pratt, 29, was driving a 2019 Hyundai Elantra that slammed into the pole on Ramapo Valley Road just south of the Oakland Diner on Sunday, Lt. Christian Eldridge said.
His passenger, also 29, was taken to Chilton Medical Center in Pompton Plains with a leg injury, he said.
Detective Sgt. Mark Piercy arrested Pratt, assisted by Eldridge and Officer Michael DiDonato.
