Transmission Defect Could Lock Up Wheels, Prompting Massive Cadillac, Chevy Recall
A transmission defect in more than 90,000 Cadillac and Chevrolet vehicles could cause the front wheels to lock up while driving, increasing crash risks, officials said.
The recall affects about 90,081 2019-2020 Cadillac CT6, 2020-2021 Cadillac CT4 and CT5, and 2020-2022 Chevrolet Camaro models equipped with a 10-speed transmission, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said. According to NHTSA, internal transmission damage could lead to sudden wheel lock-up, creating a serious hazard for drivers.

Nearly 295,000 Honda and Acura vehicles are being recalled due to a software issue that could cause engines to lose power or stall, increasing crash risks, officials said.
Honda, which also owns Acura, announced the recall in a news release on Wednesday, Jan. 29. The 294,612 recalled vehicles include select 2021-2025 Acura TLX Type S, 2022-2025 Acura MDX Type S, and 2023-2025 Honda Pilot models.

A 17-year-old area boy was speeding when he crashed a Tesla into a tree in Closter earlier this month, seriously injuring three of his classmates, authorities confirmed on Wednesday.
A delinquency complaint charges the driver with three counts of assault by auto in connection with the Model X crash, which occurred on Durie Avenue shortly before 6:30 p.m. Dec. 1, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said on Dec. 13.
The crash comes coincidentally amid a recall of two million Tesla models Y, S, 3, and X produced between Oct. 5, 2012, and Dec. 7, 2023.

Honda is recalling nearly 250,000 vehicles due to damaged engines that can run improperly or stall while driving, increasing the risk of a fire, crash, or injury.
