Authorities issued an alert about counterfeit money that has been distributed to businesses in the Hudson Valley. The Village of Millerton Police Department in Dutchess County made the announcement on Tuesday, Aug. 23. So far, police found that counterfeit $100 bills have been distributed to businesses in the Millerton area. The identities have been released for two people who were killed in a massive Hudson Valley fire. Dutchess County residents Jenny Yang, age 24, and Wangdi Tamang, age 30, bother of Millerton, were killed around 8 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 6, when they could not escape a house fire on Route 22, said the New York State Police. Two separate fatal crashes that occurred over the weekend in the area are under investigation.
