Man Convicted Of Sexually, Physically Abusing Girl For 6+ Years: Prosecutors A Marlboro Township man was convicted of sexually and physically abusing a girl for more than six years, authorities said. A jury found 51-year-old Andrey Penkin guilty of second-degree Aggravated Sexual Assault, as well as two counts each of first-degree aggravated sexual assault and second-degree endangering the welfare of a child. Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond Santiago announced the conviction in a news release on Wednesday, Sept. 18. Guanglie Zhang, 74, died after the Monday, Sept. 9 crash, a Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office spokesperson confirmed on Wednesday, Sept. 18. Marlboro police responded to School Road East near Buckley Road at around 9:43 a.m. Investigators said Zhang was crossing School Road East from the Henry Hudson Trail on a Class 1 e-bike when the collision happened. A white Ford commercial van hit the mirror of a school bus at around 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, Mar. 21, a Marlboro police spokesperson said. The van left the scene of the crash at the intersection of Route 79 and Newman Springs Road (county route 520). Heroes: K-9, Jersey Shore Police Rescue 'Suicidal' Runaway A police K-9 dog and his handler rescued someone who was suicidal and had run away, authorities said. The person had fled his residence in distress last week, Marlboro Township police said.  After about 90 minutes of searching area woods, K-9 handler, Patrolman Joshua Abrahamson and his partner, Bolo, were able to guide patrol officers to a spot where the subject was found unharmed, police said. "We would like to commend Bolo and all the officers involved that helped lead this incident to a successful outcome," the police department said on Instagram and Facebook.

Patrol Car Crashes On Jersey Shore: Police A police officer escaped serious injury when his police car crashed on the Jersey Shore, authorities said. The crash was reported at about 3 p.m. at Crine Road and Pierson Drive in Marlboro Township, police said. Sergeant Michael Tischler of the Marlboro Township Police Department was involved in the crash  Neither driver suffered serious injuries, police said. Tischler was transported to the hospital to get checked out.  The crash is being investigated by the Marlboro Township Traffic and Safety Bureau.

Feb. 13 at 2:22 a.m., a 2019 Cadillac XT5 traveling southbound on Route 9, collided with a 2018 Nissan Altima at the intersection on the southbound side of Route 9 and Route 520, according to Acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Lori Linskey. The Altima then proceeded to strike a nearby telephone pole, Linskey said. The crash occurred about 6:30 a.m. on Route 18 southbound in Marlboro Township, police said.
