Albany Man Shot by Police After Assuming 'Shooter's Stance'
Albany Police are investigating an officer-involved shooting, leaving a man with non-life-threatening injuries and facing multiple charges, including gun possession and endangering children.
According to Megan Craft, a spokeswoman for the Albany Police, the incident occurred on Sunday, Jan. 5, at 150 Third Ave.
Craft said officers responded to reports of a person with a weapon inside the home after a witness reported seeing Luis Rivera, age 39, armed with a handgun.

Tributes are flooding in after a car crash claimed the lives of a beloved Long Island business owner and her fiancé.
Kaitlyn McCready, 36, of Smithtown and Luis Rivera, 41, of Hauppauge, were both killed in a wreck Thursday, Dec. 12, while returning to New York, according to her obituary. Additional details about the crash were not immediately available.
McCready owned Kate’s Hair of the Dog, a dog grooming business in Northport that also offered mobile grooming services. Her clients and friends described her as a beacon of warmth and compassion who made every pet and owner feel special.

A restaurant family on the North Shore is mourning the death of one of their own.
Amanda Dixey, whose husband Tom Dixey is a chef at The Lobster Shanty in Salem, died unexpectedly after a "brief illness" on Sunday morning, Jan. 29, according to a GoFundMe.
"Amanda was one of the most fun-loving people around with a sharp, witty sense of humor," the campaign reads. "Amanda and Tom had a magical romance and her family are heartbroken."
