Man Rescued After Falling Overboard Off Rye Coast: Police A man suffering a psychiatric episode was rescued from the waters of Long Island Sound after falling overboard from an anchored vessel off the coast of Westchester, police said.  The incident happened on Tuesday, Sept. 12 around 3:15 p.m., when members of the City of Rye Police Marine Unit responded to a mayday call on Long Island Sound around two miles south of Milton Harbor in Rye. Ford Winter, Former Mamaroneck HS Swimming & Diving Coach, 85 Ford Winter was born on June 26, 1937 and passed away on November 18, 2022.  He taught physical education and coached swimming and diving in the Mamaroneck Public Schools. Ford was particularly successful with his coaching of MHS divers, developing them into champions.  In retirement from the Hommocks Middle School, Ford began to entertain on stage and in cabaret.
