Bergenfield Lotto Player Wins Big Money
Friday, July 21 was a day to win lots of money for lottery players in New Jersey.
Three players in Bergen County, Hudson County and Monmouth County matched four of the white balls and the Gold Mega Ball in Friday's NJ Lotto drawing, winning $10,000. The ticket purchased in Bergen was purchased with the Megaplier option, multiplying the prize to $20,000.
The tickets were purchased at Foster Stationery in Bergenfield, 7-Eleven in Kearny and KDM Mart in Howell. The winning numbers were: 29, 40, 47, 50, and 57. The Gold Mega Ball was 25, and the Megaplier Multiplier was 02.

Three Colombian nationals remain in federal custody and a fourth has already been deported after the government said they stole jewelry, a Rolex, an antique rifle, furs and cash in a home burglary in Union County.
The quartet also took a stamp collection, luxury bags and more after breaking into the Cranford home shortly before 5 p.m. last Nov. 30, U.S. Attorney Philip R. Sellinger said.

Lifelong Kearny resident Eric Carlen is being remembered as a beloved husband and son, according to his obituary.
The dad of three died on Friday, April 28 at the age of 32, according to his obituary. He worked as a construction laborer in Mountainside and was married to his wife, Mariana, his obituary reads.

Tony Manuel Marques, a lifelong New Jersey native, died with his family by his side on Saturday, April 8, according to his obituary.
Marques was born in Passaic and later lived in Newark and Kearny, before living in Union, his obituary reads. He was a truck driver for C and K Recycling for eight years, according to his obituary.

Helder Martins, 45, is being remembered as a loving father, son and brother.

Luz Hernandez's Ex-Partner Charged With Murder
The ex-partner of Luz Hernandez, the Jersey City teacher found dead earlier this month, has been charged with murder in her death.
Cesar Santana, who was captured at a motel in Miami days after 33-year-old Hernandez was found dead in a shallow Kearny grave, was extradited to New Jersey on Feb. 21, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said.
Santana had previously been charged with desecrating/concealing human remains, but after his extradition was slapped with hindering, failing to dispose of human remains, and tampering with physical evidence, authorities said.
