Man Seriously Injured After Being Struck By Car On Long Island
A Long Island man was seriously injured after being struck by a car while walking along a roadway.
The incident took in Port Jefferson Station around 8:40 p.m., Tuesday, April 27.
Mitchell Leventhal, age 64, of Port Jefferson Station, was walking in the roadway of Route 112, north of Jefferson Avenue when he was struck by a northbound 2004 Lexus ES 330, said the Suffolk County Police.
Leventhal was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries, police said.

One Killed, One Injured In Suffolk Home Invasion, Police Say
One person was killed and another injured during a home invasion on Long Island.
The incident took place around 3:45 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 17, in Suffolk County at a Coram home.
According to the Suffolk County Police, multiple people broke into the home at 5 Everglades Lane and shot Eric Westby, a resident of the home, and beat a woman with a pistol.
Westby, 46, was transported to John T. Mather Memorial Hospital in Port Jefferson where he was pronounced dead.
The woman was treated for her injuries at a local hospital.

Police are investigating a crash that seriously injured a Long Island man.
It happened Monday, Sept. 6 just before 2 p.m. in East Shoreham.
Jerry Comeau, age 28, of Selden, was riding a 2009 Harley Davidson eastbound on Route 25A, near George Avenue, with a group of three other motorcyclists, Suffolk County Police said.
One of the other operators collided with one of the other vehicles and fell from a 2005 Yamaha, causing a pileup, said police.
Comeau, who was at the back of the group, was ejected from the motorcycle, police said.

An investigation is underway after two brothers were killed in an overnight crash on Long Island.
It happened just after 9 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 2, in Mount Sinai.
Darrius Jones, age 16, of Coram, was driving a 1998 Ford Mustang southbound on County Road 83, and made a left turn onto Canal Road, where the car collided with a northbound Jeep SUV driven by Alaina Dimaria, age 28, Suffolk County Police said.
Jones was transported to Stonybrook University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

A woman crossing a busy Long Island roadway was struck and killed by an SUV.
It happened on Sunday, Jan. 12 at approximately 6:10 p.m. in Shoreham.
The woman was crossing westbound Route 25A, in front of the Rocky Point Fire Department, when she was struck by a 2018 Hyundai SUV at approximately 6:10 p.m., Suffolk County Police said.

A man and woman are facing charges after they were involved in a motor vehicle crash in a stolen car on Long Island, police said.
Suffolk County Police Seventh Precinct officers responded to Estate Court in Sound Beach after a 911 caller reported a suspicious vehicle parked in the street at approximately 5:11 p.m. Friday, July 12.
